I saw this on Ebay.  I thought it was worth sharing.  Has anyone ever run across a one cent deposit box.  Pretty neat concept, but it doesn't make the machine worth two grand.

I bought a nice original one-cent box off eBay several years ago for $40...sold it on eBay about a year later for about $400 - fluke I think, but I'll take it.
There were actually about four different models of one-cent boxes - most times I see them sell for $50-$70.

I have contracted Restorer of Coke Machine Worldwide and website owner of Coke Machine and they have no knowledge of a one cent deposit box.

It was a because the 1 cent boxes were on double secret academic probation?

Geez, gimme a break.

Will do Dave!
Haven't seen one lately though - maybe about time for one to show!
Yes - they were actually wired up - a CREM would block the regular coin path until a penny was inserted.

He has 1 offer and I'll bet it's around... $250

This is ridiculous; I guess if I had a machine that had a Vendo Coin Changer mounted on the front, it would be worth $20,000.00... I just added an extra zero because the Vendo Coin Changer is worth more than a penny coin box, plus I've only seen them mounted on machines in brochures so that has to make it even rarer!

I wouldn't mind a deposit box too.  If anyone finds one under $100.00, let me know.

I have one as well that I picked up at the Chicago Show a couple of years ago for $40 as well. I'm pretty much done restoring it. I just sent the mech out to be replated/reworked and when I get it back and installed I will be finished.

To me they are more of an oddity than than an accesory which in turn makes them semi-interesting to me or at least enough for me to spend some time on restoring!  biggrin

I think they look great next to a machine. A sort of poor man's coin changer.
