What's this socket for?

What goes in this socket? And is what's missing why my flouresent bulb wont come on?
I tried a new ballast but still no light.
Does anyone have parts for the Westinghouse WB78-6? The plexiglass over the coke flavor is cracked and I found that all 6 windows are actually 1 long piece of plastic. Is it possible to just cut off 1 window and scab in a better piece?

It's probably for the starter (which is why your light is not going on).
Yea, you may just want to find some cheap, thin plastic for the windows.

Oh, you will want to get one that is the same wattage as your bulb.
Here's what they look like:

I have a complete selection panel for a WB78-6 (see attached pics).
Little different from yours, but should be able to make it work.

Success!
We have light.
As for the cracked plexiglass, I'm going to leave it for now.
Thanks for the help
