Hey guys, I got the fan motor fixed..I think.  biggrin
I got the 4 scres loose from the base using a recommendation here..tapping.
I had sprayed them good with wd40 several days before and then again. Then, I took a big screwdriver and tapped them a couple of times and each backed our nicely. Didn't even rip a thread.
I vaccuumed out the whole bottom really well. I had thought about doing what one guy said and basically redoing and cleaning the whole cooling unit. But, at this point, I opted not to. I'm new at all this. Smiley But I got it shined up pretty good in the base.
I got a new motor for 28 bucks. put the fan on. I had to wire the wire from the harness into the wire from the fan.
I then just sort of test mounted it and it is working ok. Currently, it's in the 30's outside, so it'd be hard to tell if it's cooling or not. But, as I didn't move any of the other stuff, I'd think it should be fine as it was. It's blowing, and I can twist the thermostat on unitl it cuts on/off.
The new fan is a lot cooler.

Now...I need three things:
a coin box
a key
some dark woodgrain paper to go on the outside.
Thanks for all your help guys! I appreciate it a lot.

Well done Mark

With regard to the woodgrain, why don't you go "The whole hog" and take all the grain off.

A full monty soda machine?  laugh
Actually, I like the woodgrain contact paper. It dates it. To me, it puts it in it's time. Of course, finding it is another matter now.
Any insights into where I might find it are welcome.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure where the wood grain vinyl can be purchased...

Googling for "Woodgrain contact paper"  turned up  a lot  of hits, including  this one with  pages of woodgrain:
http://www.designyourwall.com/store/Wood-Grain-Contact-paper-c-132.html

The drawback I see,  without knowing the dimensions you are working with is the roll is 18" wide. I'm thinking  it may be  short, and you don't want a seam showing down the front

Have you thought of using a veneer?  Don't know  if it's doable, or feasible.

I found the woodgrain at Ace hardware once. You might try there.

Thanks! I really would like the 36" width to prevent seams. If anyone knows of where I can get dark woodgrain in 36" width, please let me know.

try your local chrysler dealer they still use woodgrain on some models.over lap the two pieces cut with a straight edge you shouldn't see the seam
