What t- stat do I need for a glasco 50 ? 9 3/4" ? Unlike the ideals that have a 72 " the glasco has a short fat tube coming from the liner. And how do you put the tube in , the old one is wound up to fit inside the tube. Next question the inside cooling tubes is one supposed to set up against the t-stat tube for it to work right or does it go off of the liner temp. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

The Glasco and the Ideal use the same thermostat with a
short cap tube. Suppliers on this site will send one with the tube
already coiled.
This capillary tube slides into a pipe that is making contact
with the inner liner, not the cooling coil.

Not an expert ,but sounds like you have a bad seal on the cooler to keep the cold in? or perhaps your low on coolant and the compressor is workign too hard to get it cold?
are you running it empty or do you have soda or water inside? It's always easier to keep cold with something in it and helps hold temperature? even a bucket of water...
also try wrapping the lines that you can see with pipe insulation...

Open the side door and feel the center of the front wall of the
inner liner, then feel the rear wall. Are they equally cold?
Frost forming all the way back to the compressor could indicate a
blockage in the line.

The interior walls are frosty cold . I don't think the area by the t stat tube is getting as cold as the rest. maybe the the cooling tube is in the wrong area or isn't making contact. The lower exterior tube has me concerned because of heavy frost build up.I just had the system charged and I think it may have very very slow leak where they added the valve. The walls get extremely cold and frosty but the rack is slow to get cold?

I have had this happen on Ideal 35's, the spotweld holding the tube
breaks loose from the liner and gives the thermostat a false reading.
Had to drill holes and lead a long straight cap tube into the cooling area.

The small fan was running ,it was empty the last time I ran it. It got really cold then the t -stat shut down for 10 min and then it kicked back on. I guess I could have some bad seals on the lid and side door ? I just had the system recharged and the guy couldn't find any leaks . What R value are you guys using for insulation? I just wanted to get this thing running right before I sold it or before I gut it to restore it. I have an Ideal 55 ahead of it though. Like I said the frost on the outside line doesn't seem right. Here's a few pic's of the machine.
