How do I go about setting my 81 to vend for 10 cents instead of 5 ? Are there different coin mechs for a nickle and a dime? I understand how the adjustment dogs work on the crank handle mech. When I put a dime in it just falls through and does not land in the slot where it should. I put a nickle in and it works perfect, goes through mech. and lands in the slot. When I put 2 nickles in the 2nd nickle lands on top of the first one. Thanks!    Tony

Tony,

Are you saying that when you deposit one nickel, the vending cycle can be started by pressing the crank handle and this will vend a soda...?
Can you post a photo of the coin mech with the slug rejector in place...?
Most V-81s are set to vend with 10 cents; I have only seen a couple that had change tubes and vended on 5 cents...

Tony,
It sounds like you have a 5, 10, 15 cent mech and a nickel rejector
There are several variables at work here though.
1. You could have a nickel rejector, which would accept nickels and reject dimes.
There is no modification to correct this - you'll have to get another rejector!
2. If you have two dogs, then you have a 5, 10, 15 cent mech.
A nickel rejector would allow it to vend on a nickel only -
A dime rejector would allow it to vend on a dime only -
A nickel/dime rejector would allow it to vend on a 5, 10, 15 cents.
Adjustments can be made on the 5/10 cent rejector itself to limit the coins accepted
thus allowing only a nickel or only a dime or both to be accepted.
Post pics of the front and back of your rejector and a shot down at your mech with the rejector removed.
I can then tell you what you have and what you need to get.

Yeah Tony -
You have a nickel rejector and a 5, 10, 15 cent mech.
If you can get a nickel/dime rejector, then you can set your mech to vend on a nickel
a dime
or
a nickel and a dime.
Easy to do with a couple of minor adjustments to the rejector and dog screw adjustments.

For now though,
you are stuck with a nickel vend as there is no way to modify that rejector to accept dimes.
I have a dime rejector that I will trade you if you want.

I have this rejector from a 39. It appears to possibly be a nickel/dime rejector. It needs restored. Are parts available for these rejectors? Anyone interested in possibly restoring it for me ?   Thanks for the information.      Tony
