Well I found a couple of VF63's & a Cavalier C4-96 this weekend for show & tell. The two vendos are a bit beat on the coin doors, but are rust-free, the left one is a parts machine (no compressor) the right one is in running condition & it'll soon loose it's steel sign for a light-up, it also has a bottle portal lamp, not pretty, but a good builder for $100/pair.

The Cavalier C4-96F is a nice dual chute machine, it's bottle guide says it will vend from 6oz. bottles up to 16oz. bottle, & I tried a couple of 12oz. cans in it and they'll vend fine with some "tweaking" to the bottle spacers, I also tried the new skinny 16.9oz. plastic product bottles & they drop like a champ on the take. it's a bit shorter than a VF90, & heavy as heck (for it's size)  three nice machines from the big "D" area (Detroit)

Way to go, Johnnie!

That Cavalier is a nice looking machine.  Will you restore that one?

Nice finds JG!
What do the bottle spacers look like?
I have always wondered whether they were the same as for a Cav55E Dual selection.

Thanks Johnnie,
I should rephrase my question.
The C55 utilizes back spacers and a combination of side spacers and shims.
Does the C96 use side spacers?

Yes, there are some side spacers, according to the loading instructions, you're supposed to space the sides until the the first two bottles are sitting at a 30 degree angle (so they don't jam) so it's looking more & more like a dual-55

Almost forgot!  I got that little HA56/Vernors machine converted to a lightup witha bottle portal light & a glass door, the hew additions really lightend up the looks of the formally all brown machine.

I put it to work as a "Vintage" vendor at my local UPS store, they luv all the attention it brings as it's visable from the parking lot. it draws peopl into the store for a peek.  I sold the machine out the first week! fun!  ''

here's the before & after pic's
