There is a VMC 3D-33 for sale locally the seller said he would take $550.00 for it looks like it is clean orig machine. It's a one one piece door with hand truck kit on back. You guy's think it would be worth it?        Thank's again

That looks really clean and straight.  If complete, working, that sounds pretty fair to me.  Plus no shipping costs, so I wouldn't say it is high.

Is one more desireable than another (split door vs. single)?

I think it is a fair price.
I've seen some 33-3D machines in worse shape sell for more.
I think the 3D is more sought after than the split door.
It will only vend small bottles,
but it is a great small size and with the dolly can be move around easily.

I think you should go over there with $500. cash TODAY.

You don't have to pay for shipping or painting. Clean the
insides and put it on E-bay.  You will double or tripple your investment.

I love the 33's. I have heard that with some tinkering they can vend cans. I like them better than the 39's and other single selections machines.

I would buy it as soon as possible - very fair price.  I had one just like it a couple of years ago and sold it for three times that, but to this day I wish I would have kept it.  Neat machines.....  Someday I will find one in my area.... Nice find !!!

I have heard that with some tinkering they can vend cans.

That is what Jeff Walters said in his book, but Steve Jebb says that is not true.
I really cannot see how since the drum is cast and is only so wide.
You would have to have another drum made with wider slots.
My first machine was a VMC27, which has the same drum.
In high school and college, I used to keep Coors in there (slim can).
So some of the Powerade cans and such might work as long as they are not too tall.
You do not have to worry about the new Coke bottles not working though with the vending design.
