I think I scored! I saw this in a garage sale today, the gentleman said it worked, but it's been years since it's been in use. Still, for $25, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Anyway, I plugged it in and the compressor, the condenser fan, and the internal evaporator fan run, all working, just not getting cool at all, even after a couple of hours. I had it on it's back for the drive home in the pick up, and I didn't let it set before plugging it in, although the ride was just around the corner in our neighborhood, maybe 5 minutes. Should I retry tomorrow after it has set overnight? Also, should I have water in the catch container under the drain hole? There is a coiled refrigerant line in the container. Where would I go next to troubleshoot the problem. Thanks in advance for any help. I'm looking forward to getting this operational

Looks good for $25. Rule of thumb is that you sould let the machine sit up for at least the same amount of time that it was on its back.
Plug it back in and see if you hear the compressor kick off a few seconds after it kicks on. See if the compressor is running by putting your hand on it (may want to use a glove since it can get real hot).
You might also try getting in touch with Eric at Global Compressors (ad at the top of the page). He'll give you free advice (plus he may see this post an answer). He just rebuilt the cooling system for my CS-80C.

I did have my hand on the compressor and it is running, just not cooling down.
BTW, DG, what did you do to fix my pictures?

This forum uses iB Code, so the tags look like [IMG]. Your post had a mix of this and html (<img src).
