I wanted this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....4697941

But it went beyond what I could justify. So I ended up with this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....4853437

Don't get me wrong. What I have is great. Works fine and could be described as NOS. But it doesn't have that unique look of the first one.

I've been searching Ebay UK and what do I come across... Only this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....IT&rd=1

He has a reserve of £100.00

Isn't it always the same way...

Well Bubba Thanks a lot. After writing that post I went upstairs to have a shower and now I've come down and the bloody thing isn't working anymore.

There is power to the unit because I can hear the timer working but there isn't any power to the radio part.
Oh great... The kids Scaletrics has just packed up too.

On the description for the third one it says "The radio does work but being American it is only capable of picking up AM in the UK." - What do they mean by that exactly ? FM tuners built in the states won't work in the UK ?

I tihnk they would. These radios don't have FM though. They only have AM, but when mine did work it picked up AM no problems. Was there no FM in the 1950's???
