I saw in a discussion a few months ago that Vendos have casters that are 3/8" 16 threads per inch. Are Cavaliers the same (or at least a CS-80)? I want to pick up some wheel casters and put them on before I haul the machine to the basement.

When putting casters on a machine, do you just remove the leg levellers and screw them into there or what ?

Yep. My Vendo 63 came that way and I love it. Once you hand-truck it down the stairs, just stand it upright and roll it in place. Need to get to the plug behind it for Christmas lights? No propblem!

I just put these casters on my Cavalier. There were already holes in the base that worked perfectly for the 3/8" diam. posts so I left the levelers on. It is steady on the casters and they make it so easy to move in the garage.

So, there were extra 3/8" holes?

Yep. In the fourth picture you can see the post of one of the casters in the back left. I might be able to get a better pic later.

I just took out the leg levelers on my VMC 56. Naturally, one twisted off, so I had to drill and re-tap the hole. On this machine, the hole size was 1/2-13.

This is where my casters went on the front. There were equal holes in the back. I took the front little kickplate off so you could see them.

Thanks for the extra pics. I understand now!
3/8" 16 threads per inch must be some sort of standard, this is the only size that Menards had.
