i have a machine v348/198 serial 7rk014576 and i cannot identify the type of flourescent bulb required. both bulbs i tried burned out instantly and i cannont find any sticker that identifies the correct bulb.  thank you '<img'>

Usually if thebulb fits, it's probably the right one.  Sounds like you have a bad ballast to me.

The "popping" of new flourescent bulbs is caused by a shorted ballast(s), & it(they) will have to be replaced,as for replacing the light bulbs, they should be marked on either end of the bulb itself (as an example, F15/T12-14CW would be as follows... "F15"=flourescent/15 watt, "T12" =tubular size/12 , "14CW" = 14 inch nominal length/Cool white color.  as I recall from the same machine I just sold this month, they were about F40/T12-60/63 CW...but that's just an estimate, you'll have to check at a lighting store as the big box stores, HomeDepot, Menards, Lowes, etc. don't carry a big selection of the odd sizes...
