I expect if we go there we will live outside the city. I don't do too well in the city. The new place in Memphis is 30 miles from downtown and I think that is about right.

Detroit proper is a great place to visit but I wouldn't wanna live there.  I'm about 30 miles out in a fast growing community that is about a 50-50 mix between residential and farm.  It's a perfect mix.  Close enough to be near everything but it still feels like you are away from it all.  I'm a few miles away from DTW.  Unlike most big metro areas, most of Detroit's industry/entertainment is in the suburbs except for a very small ring right downtown.  It is very easy to live in the area and only have to enter the city limits every few years and not miss a thing.  Sorry I'm getting so off topic.

I forgot,  Usually I do better selling machines in the fall then summer.  I think people want to get there winter projects lined up.   Also, a friend who owns a store that sells arcade games and other coin-op stuff has told me they can usually get a couple hundred bucks more for the same game in December because people  are getting ready for Christmas.

Okay

so Autumn is better than Summer but how do you know where the best area for Soda Machine buying is?? Why would Detroit be better than Mephis?? How about quality does that differ from area to area. Price too.. Must be supply & demand but where does the supply out weigh the deamnd and vice versa.

These sort of things interest me. I once had a mate that flew to one side of the US bought a car drove it to the other side sold it for a profit. Not sure which side was which.

We don't have that sort of problem here in UK. You could get from one end of the country to the other in a day and still have time for dinner.

I honestly think that there will be more machines in Memphis. About 90% of the machines that I have bought in the past were sitting in a barn. For some reason farmers seem to keep everything. Also the Cavalier company was in Chatanoga Tn so I figure there is probably alot of Cavaliers there.

About the car, Different places in the US have different costs of living than others. Like here in sunny Florida for some reason it has the lowest income rate of any other state, but at the same time housing and everything is less expensive here. Then there are places like California where everything seems to be more expensive. A house you could buy here in Florida for $50K could be double or tripple that on the west coast.

I think you will find more in Memphis too.  Machines seem to command higher prices up here though.  It seems harder to pull real nice stuff out of the wooodwork up here(although Johnie G has good luck:) )
It might be this area is more populated so more people are beating the bushes making stuff harder to find.  Or it could be our winters with the constant freeze-thaw cycle and salt that tears the machines up reducing the population. Part of it could be the rust-belt mentality, we seem to be fixated on constantly updating things around here, not because it's broke just because it's old.
