Coin mechanism

All,

Two things:

1. Does anyone make repro (or new) National slug rejectors. I have one, but would like to get a spare.

2. When I get some time, I will post a picture of the one I have, as I need a question answered. Basically, when I put in a dime, it goes through fine. However, the little lever it hits when the dime first goes in doesn't return to a position where it can accept another dime. Is this called the "undersize detector" and what am I doing wrong. I'll try to post a picture later on.

If it's a metal National Rejector slug rejector, put it in a pot of boiling water with a couple of drops of dish soap. Seriously, that came directly from one of their tech manuals! ':p'

I've done this to clean up the slug rejector on my NRI units and it works well to remove grease, grime, and other junk that builds up over the years. Let the unit air dry, then use WD-40 on anything that still doesn't move freely (like the undersize detector).

There will be a small C clip holding the cradle in place. Remove the clip and slide the cradle off the shaft. A small piece of sandpaper will smooth any rust or crud off the shaft.
Just ONE small drop of oil and re-install and test.

these slug rejectors/coin acceptors are used in things like pinball & video game machines, & they only accept the coinage listed for that mech. ie:the 25 cent one will only accept a quarter...they may fit something like an Ideal slider..but there is no guarantee, but for $18.00 it might worth a shot..depending on your application if you happen to have a single (fixed) price metal coinmech

There is a company named Imonex that makes replacement coin acceptors for many different applications, they do not look like the original mechs but they do work extremely well.

I am not sure if they will have what you are looking for but they may be worth a shot.

I have a Vendo 23 with a 10-cent slug rejector. I just wanted to get another one as a spare, so I was wondering if any company makes compatible models.
